Interview with Bruno Peyron, CEO of the team, and Yann Guichard, helmsman, during this last leg of the America’s Cup World Series tour held in Naples, Italy. After a successful partnership with the music world and the Montreux Jazz Festival, Parmigiani Fleurier has now decided to be present in the world of cinema by becoming partner of the famous Swiss Locarno Film Festival. Jaquet Droz commissioned Jean-Christophe Nothias, author, for an original and audacious project. For the first time we will discover the life of one the key watchmakers of his time, Pierre Jaquet Droz, not on an historical and factual basis, but as a real novel. The idea is to find out who was this ingenious man, his travels and encounters in the middle of the “Enlightenment Ages”, his family and legacy, instead of a historical description of what he achieved. Interview with Bernard Fornas, CEO of Cartier, who explains to us the main novelties shown at the SIHH 2012; the brand’s first Minute Repeater, the new Tank Anglaise among many new creative products. Martin Frei, co-founder and designer of Urwek, gives us some further insights into the brand’s very imaginative creative process. We thought that there has been a lot of Felix Baumgartner recently in the media, so to talk with Martin Frei seemed a good thing to do!!! During a visit to De Bethune’s factory, Denis Flageollet, co-founder and Head of technical departement, explains us in this video their new approach to the regulation of watches: a magnetic oscillating system opening the door to frequencies as high as 20’000 Hertz. Their “open source” approach goes against intellectual protection habits of the industry, but what they want is to make things go fast to the benefit of watchmaking evolution. Find out in this 1st part of the Top 5 with Elizabeth Doerr, freelance journalist and watch expert, during the 2012 SIHH: Richard Mille’s crazy sapphire RM 056, Greubel Forsey’s “Garde du temps” project with Phlippe Dufour and Van Cleef & Arpels’ Poetic Wish. This exhibition put together by Audemars Piguet retraces 40 year of the iconic Royal Oak in a very artistic environment. After New York and Milan, the exhibition is currently opened to the public in Paris until June the 10th at the Palais de Tokyo.
