Christie’s, Sotheby’s and Antiquorum watch auctions of May

  • Results and trends of the May watch auctions held in Geneva at Christie’s, Sotheby’s and Antiquorum with an overall sale out of 45 Million Swiss Francs. Christie’s was really the big name with 30 Million in sales and 95% of the lots having found new owners, whereas results were slightly less impressive for the other 2 houses, but listen to what the three auctioneers had to say.

Re-birth of the collaboration between Corum and Vincent Calabrese

  • In 1977, Vincent Calabrese invented an incredible movement that thanks to Corum and the vision of René Bannwart would become a few years later the iconic Golden Bridge. More than 30 years after the birth of this watch in 1981, Corum’s CEO Antonio Calce  has pushed for the brand and Mr Calabrese to collaborate again. The goal is to not only to tell the story behind this incredible adventure, but also in exchanging new ideas with the current team of Laurent Besse and who knows what could come out!

Le Garde Temps – Transmission of knowledge with Philippe Dufour

  • “Le Garde Temps” project was unveiled at this year’s SIHH by Greubel Forsey and goes against many preconceived ideas of the watchmaking industry. Totally parallel to the world of open source found in technology, Philippe Dufour, Stephen Forsey and Robert Greubel have put together a real project of transmission of knowledge in order to perpetuate the know-how.
